Who is Udo Sailer?
Udo Sailer is a musician, keyboardist, composer, arranger and author - a creative border crosser between worlds of sound and language. His musical works are characterized by an impressive stylistic diversity: The spectrum of his work ranges from pop and jazz to blues, Latin, pop, rock and soul.
For over 25 years he worked as musical director for Marlène Charell, Franco Ferrari and the Günther Beer Orchestra, among others, and accompanied countless international concerts with various bands - often alongside popular artists such as Johnny Logan, Howard Carpendale, Jennifer Rush, Caterina Valente, The Platters, Chris Andrews, Al Martino, Angelika Milster, Gillian Scalici, Joy Fleming, Isabel Varell, Tony Christie, Joan Orleans, Precious Wilson, Ireen Sheer, Irving Doomes, Eurocats, Michael Holm, Nana Gualdi, Angèle Durand, Wim Thoelke, Peggy March, Frank Elstner, Roberto Blanco, Peter Kraus, Cindy & Bert, Bernhard Brink, Ricky Shayne, Gunter Gabriel, Chris Roberts, Jonny Hill, Peter Petrel, Olivia Molina, Charlie Mariano, Pony Poindexter, Al Porcino, Wilson de Oliviera, Freddie Santiago, Kim Sanders, Janusz Stefanski, Robson Gospel Singers, Salsa Panamericana, Anna Mwale, Jörg Knör, Marie-Luise Marjan, Fred van Geez , and many others. These journeys took him to dreamlike places and brought him not only artistic recognition but also many unforgettable encounters.
Parallel to music, Sailer developed a second passion: the digital world. His many years of working in the IT industry - with a focus on internet technologies, SEO and database-based search systems (including witch.de) - have shaped his analytical thinking and are also reflected in his literary works.
He has been concentrating on writing for several years now. With the novels Die Musikhure and Der Purpurpate, he has established himself as an author of suspenseful literature. His love of words was evident from an early age: poems, essays, articles and newspaper contributions accompanied him from childhood onwards.
In his latest work, The Purple Godfather, he looks deep into the dark abysses of the Vatican: abuse, mafia entanglements, corrupt clergy - and the unwavering search for truth and justice. A novel that is as captivating for its explosive nature as it is for its linguistic power.
